Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya nilai-nilai moral yang terkandung
dalam novel Laskar Pelangi yang patut untuk dibahas.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai moral melalui karakter tokoh yang
terkandung dalam novel Laskar Pelangi.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan teknik analisis
dengan metode karakterisasi yang terdiri dari metode langsung (telling) dan
metode tidak langsung (showing). Metode langsung terdiri dari: metode
karakterisasi menggunakan nama tokoh, metode karakterisasi melalui penampilan
tokoh, melalui tuturan pengarang. Metode tidak langsung terdiri dari: lokasi dan
situasi percakapan, metode jati diri tokoh yang dituju oleh penutur, metode
karakterisasi melalui tindakan para tokoh dan metode kualitas mental para tokoh.
Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian bahwa dalam novel Laskar Pelangi terdapat nilai
moral yang ditampilkan oleh tokoh Ikal.Dari hasil penelitian, tokoh Ikal telah
menampilkan nilai moral dalam relasinya dengan keluarga, dengan teman-teman
di sekolah, dan lingkungan masyarakat desa Belitong dalam novel Laskar Pelangi
karya Andrea Hirata. Nilai-nilai moral tersebut diungkapkan melalui dialogdialog,
kutipan-kutipan, dan tuturan pengarang. Nilai moral tersebut antara lain:
nilai moral dalam dunia pendidikan dan nilai moral yang berkaitan dengan agama.

This research is based on the existence of moral values containning in the novel
“Laskar Pelangi.” These moral values are properly discussed.
This research aims at knowing the moral values contained through the doer’s
characters in the novel “Laskar Pelangi.”
This research is a kind of qualitative research that uses an analysis technic with
characteristic method. This method consists of direct method (telling)and indirect
method (showing). Direct method consisits of characteristic method which uses
the doer’s name, the doer’s appearance and through the author’s story. Indirect
method consists of place and dialogue situations, the doer’s character which
intended by the author, characteristic method of the doer’s action, and mental
quality method of the doer’s.
On the basis of research, it is clearly seen that there is moral value which is
actualized by Ikal in the novel “Laskar Pelangi” written by Andrea Hirata.Ikal
applied moral value in his relationship in his familly, friends in school and in the
middle of Blitong society. That moral value is mentioned through the dialogues,
quotations, and especially through the plot which is constructed bythe author. The
moral value emphasized are such as education moral value and religious
moralvalue.
